In 2013/14 I spent four months in China. I was intrigued by very small stool, which can be seen everywhere, where people are, in snack bars, restaurants, street cafes and at hairdressers. Some people carry a stool with them in order to be able to sit down, where ever they please. The stools are often made of cheap materials, like plastic or metal. But some are made of wood or ceramic and are beautifully hand worked. I decided to copy an item made in China as a way of reflecting on global sameness and as a means to a different perception of a very unfamiliar culture.
